Ripple Swell by DesigngraphikI knew I wanted to work deconstructively, so that led me to consider a vortex within a volumetric medium, as would be created by a propeller in water, or a turbine within air. I wanted to envision a moment in a ‘space’ in which a huge structure that was created by the vortex is beginning to crumble, as fragments begin to slowly fall out into the disrupted medium, until eventually there is nothing left.

Said the colors were harmless and the shine was “part of the experience.” No one asked why the wrappers pulsed when touched, or why the aftertaste lingered like static in the back of the throat. Kids traded them like relics, their fingers slick with sanctioned joy. Inside each chewable node, a filament curled—bright, writhing, alive with a kind of artificial intent. No ingredients listed. No company name. Just a single phrase etched into the surface of each piece: *you are safe now*. Consumption became ritual. How do we hear?When sound waves enter our ears, they travel through the ear canal into the ear drum. It is then, that the ear drum vibrates from these musical sound waves and sends vibrations into our middle ears. The tiny bones then amplify the vibrations and send the movement information to the fluid filed cochlea. The fluid then begins to ripple all around, sending tiny hairs into a frenzy inside the basilar membrane. The hairs begin to move up and down, causing pores to open up and outputting electrical signals that contain important internal information. Nerves then detect, read and carry these signals to the master brain, which in part turns the sound into something we personally categorize.
